Rolling Meadows Park District Celebrates New Adult Activity Center Name
Wednesday, April 17, 2024
To meet the needs of an active community, Rolling Meadows Park District is transforming its programming for adults 50 or better, starting with a brand-new name.
The District’s Senior Center, located at 3705 Pheasant Drive, will now be called the Adult Activity Center. Superintendent of Recreation Conor Cahill said the new name suits the programming and activities available and brings a more modern feel to the space, which houses a full-functioning woodshop, maker space-style learning lab, library, kitchen and multipurpose rooms for a wide variety of classes and hobbies.
“The definition of senior continues to evolve, and with that, so does our programming,” Cahill said. “Our members are showing an interest in more multigenerational activities, ranging from cards, crafts and fitness to paint nights, pickleball and trips to local breweries and restaurants.”
To celebrate the new name and showcase activities available to the public, the Adult Activity Center will host an Open House Wednesday, April 24. Set for 3-4pm and 7-8pm, the event will feature fun demos, woodshop tours and fitness activities. Light refreshments will be served. Registration is recommended but not required.
