Rolling Meadows Park District Residents Invited to Learn About Community Center Park Proposal
Saturday, August 27, 2022
Rolling Meadows Park District is inviting residents to provide feedback on proposed enhancements to Community Center Park, located behind the Community Center at 3705 Pheasant Drive.
A Community Input Meeting is set for 6pm Wednesday, August 31 at the Community Center Auditorium. Hitchcock Design Group will present full details of the proposed project. Residents will have a chance to ask questions and learn more about the proposal.
The amenities being considered will encourage outdoor play, making full use of the popular Community Center Park space and creating a multigenerational hub for families and friends to gather, make connections and stay active. Rolling Meadows Park District is applying for an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) matching grant to help fund the project.
Proposed improvements include:
- Ninja Warrior-style Challenge Course
- Fitness Court
- Two Dedicated Pickleball Courts
- 9-hole Miniature Golf Course
- In-ground Ladderball
- In-ground Baggo
“The features being proposed offer something for all ages, from tots to seniors,” said Executive Director Kevin Romejko. “As a recreation hub, Community Center Park is an ideal location for this project. You have immediate access to the Senior Center and Preschool and our outdoor pool, ice skating and gymnastics at Nelson Sports Complex and the walking path. Community Center Park is essentially the downtown of our parks system where many of our activities take place.”
Can’t attend the meeting in person? A Zoom option is available here for those who wish to attend virtually.
