Collect a Sticker for a Cause at Family Flashlight Walk

Thursday, November 3, 2022

Take a brisk autumn walk, enjoy flashlight and glow stick fun and collect your last Rolling Meadows Park District collectible sticker!

The Park District is hosting a Family Flashlight Walk Thursday, November 3 from 5:30-7pm starting at Community Center Park. The walk, in conjunction with the Go Meadows program, includes a loop through North Salk Park, where participants will collect the fifth and final sticker in the RM Parks Sticker Series, featuring North Salk Park. The event will also include a fall craft, glow stick activities and a flashlight scavenger hunt. Participants must bring their own flashlights. To usher in the season of Thanksgiving, participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for local families in need to be collected at the start of the walk.

The RM Parks Sticker Series began in April 2022, with the first sticker, featuring Kimball Hill Park, distributed during the Community Cleanup event. Other stickers included Florey Park, Plum Grove Park and a fourth sticker commemorating the new playground at Cardinal Drive Park. Designed by Rolling Meadows Park District Graphic Designer Robben Burdick, the exclusive stickers showcase popular parks and were created as a memento for special events in 2022.

“We've been impressed with the popularity of the stickers and how eager people have been to collect each one,” Burdick said. “My vision for the series was to create a keepsake of our beautiful parks and the amazing details that make each park unique, while encouraging the community to get outdoors and have fun at our events. We're excited to celebrate the last sticker during Family Flashlight Walk, and thought it would be a great idea to wrap up the series with a food drive. These stickers have been like Pokémon—gotta catch ‘em all!”
