Rolling Meadows Park District is ready to debut historic updates to Community Center Park!

A Ribbon Cutting event will take place at 9am on Saturday, September 27, at Community Center Park, located behind the Community Center at 3705 Pheasant Drive.

Renovations to the park include a Ninja Warrior-style Challenge Course, a Fitness Court, two dedicated pickleball courts, a 9-hole miniature golf course, and in-ground ladder toss and baggo. These exciting additions have turned Community Center Park into a true multigenerational hub—an inviting space where people of all ages can stay active, connect with others, and enjoy the outdoors.

“In an era when families are looking to reduce screen time and spend more time outside, this project provides countless opportunities to experience one of our most popular parks,” said Executive Director Nick Troy. “Whether you are circuit training, racing your child through the Challenge Course and 40-yard dash, trying out pickleball for the first time, or enjoying a relaxing afternoon of mini-golf, there’s something here for everyone. We are thrilled to open these upgrades to the community as we continue to fulfill our vision of providing exceptional opportunities to Play, Learn, and Grow.”

Ribbon Cutting activities include the chance to try out the Challenge Course and participate in Fitness Court competitions. Giveaways, raffles and prizes will also be available, along with light refreshments.

The Ribbon Cutting will serve as a soft opening for the new features and equipment. A Pack the Park event is planned for 2026, once the final elements—such as the planting of native wildflowers and grasses in the park's bioretention basin—are completed.

“Once this area fills in with native blooms by late spring and early summer, it will become a truly breathtaking space where families can work out and play,” Troy said. “In the meantime, we know the community is eager to start enjoying these remarkable new features, so we’re excited to welcome everyone to the park as the finishing touches are wrapped up.”

The project is supported in part by a $600,000 Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), with a $50,000 grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois and National Fitness Campaign helping to fund the Fitness Court.
